It's ok. Rules will be put in place soon.

There's gonna be 1 too many 5-star busts, too many portal players getting $3 mil for 1 season and getting hurt before the season starts.

This kid, Nico, was shopping himself DURING the period they were prepping for Ohio St playoff game. That's lame and a terrible teammate

If you co-sign 18-19 yr olds doing that, see it how you want.

I must admit I do co-sign doing this (but I'm not a fan of a power 5 team so these situations don't affect me)

After seeing athletes have some tough luck and their families missing out on generational wealth, I side more with the players tbh.

A bird in hand. If you’re good enough to play college ball, you should make something from it. You got singers making insane money at 15 years old. I don’t see why a 20/21-year-old shouldn’t want life changing money, especially someone who can do things not many his age can with that kind of arm.
I get players wanting to earn what they can in NIL. But Nico (or his dad) went about it the wrong way. I guarantee Jeremiah Smith is getting paid more now than he was last year, but that was handled through the agent and collective without Jeremiah threatening to sit for the playoffs or threatening to quit the team. Threatening to hold out for a playoff game is crazy work and let’s you know the one’s handling his negotiations are amateurs.

Not only the fact that he threatened to sit out.. that's the damn QB. That makes it 10x worse.

Whats worse? Nico is not obligated to stay at Tennessee, just like his coach isnt obligated.

Players getting exploited is worse than players getting their fair value. As an LSU fan I was happy to see Bryce get paid more to go to Michigan, cuz I wanna see these brothas get everything that their predecessors never did.

These boys generate 8 or 9 figures and football aint forever, word to Marcus Lattimore

edit: Yall would leave your current company for a chance at a 50k pay raise. Theres a team thats gonna give Nico a 500k+ pay raise.
What’s the beef with him entering the portal?

Is it that people think he might Schroeder himself? The timing? Or that he might be shortsighted and go for a little more money now but perhaps weaker endorsements and weaker draft positions? And thereby less money in the medium term

I really don’t follow cfb like that but rarely do I see such commotion on thecoli for someone entering the portal, a non black guy at that

Coaches “representatives” do this shyt all the time :mjlol: You think they just magically end up getting hired right after or even before the season ends without letting it be known that they're interested? ….UNLV head coach literally left their asses before the bowl game all together.…Licoln Riley literally was negotiating his contract with USC while still IN SEASON at Oklahoma.… Brian Kelly bounced on ND while they were trying to get into the playoff... Etc etc etc.… the shyt has been going on for decades and happens every season

This fake ass outrage because players are simply understanding and exercising power that everybody else has been doing is hilarious from the coli “brehs” …. Definitely a lot of house nikka energy running rampant around here whenever there's a conflict with authority

Wait, I was told that he had evil mastermind plans all along and told Tennessee to fukk off because he had something better. Please don’t tell me the master plan was Tulane or UCLA.
Now this goofy nikka likes reporting :mjlol:

Sounds to me like an overbearing father making all the decisions for his son, really without his son's knowledge or approval. Young man can't say no to his pops so he has to go along with it. Agent trying to make plays behind the family's back lol. The agent and the dad just westbrooked the son's career smh

I’m not really a college football person so I’m not going to pretend to know the nuances that many of you in here are talking about. Is it likely that this young man is going to get more money from another school than what he was making with Tennessee? If not, it’s a dumb move.
