late to the party but finally played it :mjcry:

Mind you 2 years ago i bought the season 1 disc for the xmas break thanks to @winb83 giving me the heads up about it. played the whole season that week and i had to proclaim lee as the goat everything (all that applies :to:) and lil sweetpea (clementine) as the most adorable ever.

i didn't want to wait 3-4 months between each ep (i tried that with wolf among us), so i remember playin 400 days and ep1 of season 2 when they first came out before tellin myself i'd wait for the whole thing to be released... avoided this thread and all spoilers..

and wow :wow:

if i'm being truthful, i didn't like it as much as season 1.. i wasn't as attached to the characters in this season + it was a major let down that the 400 days dlc was pretty much pointless. I'm not quite sure why they didn't just have that cast from the dlc make up the season 2 cast.. it wouldve been more poettic if they were the ones who were running from carver's camp with rebecca, after she was the one who recruited them to begin with in the dlc. If it's because of it being too hard to carry over every choice scenario from the dlc.. i dunno, i think they still should've thought it out more either in the dlc (changing the characters for the s2 story) or changing the s2 story so that the dlc characters were clem's supporting cast.

i think that same underlining issue is what also took some of the magic out of it where a lot of the choices didn't really feel like choices except for in ep 5.. Sarah.. Sarita's arm.. shoot i didn't steal the med supplies from the foreign kid... and none of it mattered.

I bought a ps4 during thanksgiving and played 'the last of us' for the first time and i joked with my coworkers after beating the game that some parts of it reminded me of what this walkin dead franchise could or would be if it had a budget worth a damn lol.. but it is what it is and they're doin the best they can with what they got.

With all that said, ep 5 took me down memory lane.. and no i didn't think it was a dream when lee appeared.. i thought clem did die and we were having a nostalgic flashback to bring it all full circle one more time :to: that classic anthem playing with vintage lee dropping gems to vintage clem... that was tough :mjcry: that was powerful. I appreciate what they did there.

For anyone who hasn't played, you can get both seasons for 12.50 on PS4's PSN right now.
That's a ridiculous steal.
If I didn't have it already on the 360, I'd have grabbed it now without hesitation.

also, i noticed there was some back and forth here about the choices to make at the very (very) end... and i understand both sides of the argument given all that happened leading up to it.. but ignoring the merit/integrity of the characters involved and just going by what the choices resulted in..
i know everyone is different in what they want for her but for me only one of them provided a definitive and satisfying ending for Clementine.. whereas the other seemed like a major step backwards and imo doomed to fail. "short on supplies" already. smh.

With the former, i felt everything that went on in season 1 with lee became worth it and that he would be looking down at clem smiling like a proud dad watchin his only daughter that made it.

That's the type of ending I'd be cool with them ending the series with or at least focusing the next installments completely on someone else and somewhere else.. so that Clem can have her peace and AJ can have a near assured chance of living.

Done!

I liked it.

It wasn't on Season One's level (not that far off), but, I don't like how it seems ppl have to be blown away to appreciate something.

The last two episodes made me uncomfortable--just so jarring.

They kept the tension up. I loved the tributes to Lee. They had a real connection unlike that mess they tried to play on Bioshock: Infinite.

I forgot how cute Clem was, watching that flashback

I didn't like Sarah's death :mjcry:

I really thought AJ was dead :damn:

WHY DID YOU MAKE ME DO THAT KENNY? :childplease:

I loved playing as Clem. It was apprioate to play as a child, having no control with the people fighting around, making horrible decisions.

I was hard pressed to leave Kenny, but, I kinda came around to the fact dude was loco.

I would love to play a Season 3, but< I'm not gonna keep dealing with the stuttering on console.

Why do ppl hate that Russian kid, so much? Him & Bonnie did the same exact thing.

I killed Kenny. And decided to forgive Jane. She proved her point.

I kinda thought she threw the baby at walkers to save herself. But, quickly knew she was :troll:n.

I can't rock with Kenny, because, I don't like Rick's "Kill Everything That Doesn't Follow" mentality. I don't miss him. He went too far and turned that ending into a murder fest. Jane was wrong, but, so was Kenny.

I'm watching another ending on YouTube; nice to see Wellington is real. The other endings are cool, though.

Not sure if we still have to spoiler but:

Knew Jane was playing games so I let Kenny off her, I didn't go with him though because he was too traumatized and he needs some time to reflect and man up.

As long as he's burdened with too many responsibilities he'll never find that inner Lee that he's looking for.

And oh yeah, it ain't over muthafukkaz:

Fukk Mike, fukk Bonnie and fukk Arvo as binary characters and as a muthafukking crew. Anyone down with them from this point on, fukk them too. Chino XL, fukk you too :pacspit:

Catch them anywhere near Wellington and I'll make sure they die slow my .44 make sure Arvo's limp ass never gon grow.

If you guys like Telltale style games, you should check out 'Life Is Strange.'
Could be another choice based series to help tide you over until season 3.
Not made by Telltale, but it's the same style albeit more jazzed up.
$4.99 per episode as usual.
You play a teen named Max who finds out she can rewind time.
Has the exact same style as TWD, Wolf Among Us, and GOT. Graphics are nice, too.
There's a demo available that you can try if you're hesitant like I was.

Can't believe nobody talks about Telltale's Tale from the Borderlands. That game is dope also.

It's a sleeper. Hell, I just noticed I omitted it.
I haven't played it yet but I've heard good things. I'll def pick it up down the line.
Like marc said, I've gotten to where I wait for most of the episodes to drop before playing these now.
That wait when the episode leaves you :ooh: and you have to wait two/three months is :noah:
