late to the party but finally played it
Mind you 2 years ago i bought the season 1 disc for the xmas break thanks to @winb83 giving me the heads up about it. played the whole season that week and i had to proclaim lee as the goat everything (all that applies ) and lil sweetpea (clementine) as the most adorable ever.
i didn't want to wait 3-4 months between each ep (i tried that with wolf among us), so i remember playin 400 days and ep1 of season 2 when they first came out before tellin myself i'd wait for the whole thing to be released... avoided this thread and all spoilers..
and wow

if i'm being truthful, i didn't like it as much as season 1.. i wasn't as attached to the characters in this season + it was a major let down that the 400 days dlc was pretty much pointless. I'm not quite sure why they didn't just have that cast from the dlc make up the season 2 cast.. it wouldve been more poettic if they were the ones who were running from carver's camp with rebecca, after she was the one who recruited them to begin with in the dlc. If it's because of it being too hard to carry over every choice scenario from the dlc.. i dunno, i think they still should've thought it out more either in the dlc (changing the characters for the s2 story) or changing the s2 story so that the dlc characters were clem's supporting cast.
i think that same underlining issue is what also took some of the magic out of it where a lot of the choices didn't really feel like choices except for in ep 5.. Sarah.. Sarita's arm.. shoot i didn't steal the med supplies from the foreign kid... and none of it mattered.
I bought a ps4 during thanksgiving and played 'the last of us' for the first time and i joked with my coworkers after beating the game that some parts of it reminded me of what this walkin dead franchise could or would be if it had a budget worth a damn lol.. but it is what it is and they're doin the best they can with what they got.
With all that said, ep 5 took me down memory lane.. and no i didn't think it was a dream when lee appeared.. i thought clem did die and we were having a nostalgic flashback to bring it all full circle one more time that classic anthem playing with vintage lee dropping gems to vintage clem... that was tough that was powerful. I appreciate what they did there.
