My father had terrible speeds from his router to his entertainment room, like 1-3mb so he couldn't stream anything. These are powerline adapters, you plug one into the the wall where the router is and hook it up to the router, then you plug the other one into the wall near the FTV/PS4 etc and it gives you 1:1 speed by piggybacking off the wiring in your house. Whatever side of the house the router is plugged in is the side of the wall you want to plug the second adapter into, my father is hitting the same speed as wired devices.


Someone in the Cut Cable thread got some powerline adapters based off my review, said it works great for him, I'll @ him once I find his S/N.

I use these to get better coverage in my house and they work perfectly. Also, I'm using StreamCenter (with a wired connection) and I haven't had any issues with the stream...

Get something better than a FTV, I'm going to upgrade from it as the FTV with Kodi + Smoothstreams is putting a huge load on the CPU. During the Mayweather/Connor fight I had to switch to my old HTPC and I noticed that the cpu on the FTV was at like 90% and on the old ass HTPC it was in the teens. The HTPC was running the streams flawlessly while it would hiccup with the FTV.
