It’s pretty much tekken 3 but they added Leroy smith to give the roster more “diversity”. The animation is pretty good but I didn’t like That added the tekken hit effect.

Surely they do a season 2. Disappointed they didn't lead up to the Iron First tournament with a few backstory episodes with the competitors, that woulda been perfect. They dropped the ball there.

I'm annoyed that they didn't have enough time to flesh out side characters and show more. It feels like it coulda been a lot better with an hour run time per episode or 10 episodes to work with. Then they coulda given more backstory and character development to the people not named Jin.

Sidenote: I feel like the fighting game that'd translate to an anime or series best has always been Soul Caliber, but it never gets shine like that.

I said this when the MK movie dropped but to me, Kengen Ashura (manga turned netflix anime) does the best job at the fight tournament genre.

It can feel a bit long winded at times and not every back story (aka character) hits... but they take the time to invest in every fighters backstory and motivation heading into and during their match, which can be an episode long at times with all the flashbacks and technique explanations.

So even if you don't care about the main character, you have so many others to latch onto and can root for, for at least several rounds because it's such a huge tournament bracket.

That was the question i had coming into this thread.

So he was trash huh? :francis:

Between Eddie or at least Blade Raven, they had to go with Leroy and have him get stomped out?
Yea, it was almost hilarious too cause he was popping mad shyt and we thought he was gonna be nice. Other than that, the series was ok. 6/10.

I think Baki has the best concept with character backstories without making them look incredibly weak in contrast to the Protagonist. Baki is legendary so top characters even giving him 5 min is impressive.

I like how unpredictable the fights in the Kengan series are. Record of Ragnarok is another one that could be great if they'd improve the animation on the fights.
