Roger/Jr aren't coming back because of animal activists

And they've gone so far down the rabbit hole that the only thing that makes sense is a reboot, "Tekken 8" just sounds like a franchise that's ran its course lol. Scale the roster back and make every character balanced, no more Leroys, early T7 Dragunov's, etc. And get back to the flair T2/T3 had with character designs that matched the soundtrack.

Tekken X SF makes sense before the reboot though.

They literally don’t make games like this anymore like we’re here to have fun! All these different modes yet still using the core game mechanics was def something that needs to return with a force in the modern era

IMO, Tekken 8 should finally sum up the storyline of Kazuya/Jin/Jun and end the franchise there.

I wouldn't mind that. Either make Unknown canon and let her get "purified" bringing Jun back or make Jun a wanderer that came back to save the world one more time. It's kind of ridiculous the holes that exist in the lore, especially for a character as important as Jun. Her instead of Jin wandering the desert in T7 would've been a great way to re-introduce her.

You don't have to shelf the franchise imo but all this whacky Noctis, Negan, Gigas, tentacle Yoshi shyt gotta go. Tekken's at its best playing with dark, grungy themes, shyt has drifted too far into sci-fi fantasy.

I was worried about that back in Tekken 3, about the franchise going too far in Sci Fi fantasy and ruining the human fighting tournament. Tekken 2 was dope because of Devil/Angel dynamic fighting like Kazuya, and Jun in the mix, but Tekken 3 and Ogre/True Ogre, although dope, was edging on parody, especially with Gon and Mokujin in the mix.

Tekken 4 was bought back with realism, and Tekken 5 was dope, despite the demon Jinpachi Mishima form and an emo Devil Jin. Tekken 6 just jumped the shark. Thank God for TTT2 to set the record straight.

Real shyt what you are saying, I can't stand the anime pop direction team Tekken went, I was amazed by Tekken 4 in terms of it's realism this aspect was probably utilized to probably to compete with Virtua Fighter 4, though I ain't gonna lie when Tekken 5 was released I was in fully immersed in that game but over the years it's difficult to revisit that game aswell as Tekken 6.

Right 90s fighting game characters were something else Virtua Fighter was on point, Last Bronx, Ehergeiz, Tobal, Battle Arena Toshinden, Ex Layer series and Bloody Roar were all on point.
