It was hard AF to rank up to god in T7 ESPECIALLY if you weren't using a dlc character where you're always at a disadvantage cause t7 was pay to win basically

The dumb down of this game was very subtle and happened over years and multiple installments it damn sure wasn't over night. it wouldn't even be noticeable to someone new to the franchise or who came in around t7... The shyt actually dumbed me down as a player too, its more than me just getting older. in this tekken getting to the gold ranks means you 50-50d your way through the ranks a little better than others. and yes it gets harder the higher get up there because its more pro players and tier whores. its especially nasty once you hit Tekken God especially if you got there within that 1st 3 to 5 months.. The really good players are DEEP into God of Destruction Ranks with 250k points and higher
but you should feel good if you made it to gold ranks as a new player and of course it takes effort but I didn't have an enjoyable experience ranking with my main.. I'm almost embarrased at the way I had to play and the amount of cheese I had to use to get Asuka to God of destructionthis game forces you to play like a damn scrub and thats really my beef. Scrub play has been rewarded and turned into the meta.. I promise you this game and t7 was designed to help sorry nikkas and new people to the franchise to be able to compete with experienced players especially in ranked you just had to have really been around for awhile to see the full scope.. (speaking of ranked, This is the only rank system I have ever seen where when you get a demotion, the very next match is a promotion
you lose your demotion match and win the promo match and you get pushed way farther in rank than you would if you had won your demo match)
man I want to argue but seeing what ASW did to strive from XRD I think I can at least empathize what you saying on a personal level. I can't even watch that game its so fukking ass to me. I thought XRD was a near perfect title and I had wayyyy more success in umvc but I enjoyed my journey with XRD just as much cuz that was a beautiful game to improve in.
I do think its some super scrubby shyt in this game but every so often I run into one of them demons who just completely neuters my whole shyt and it didn't matter what 50/50 I have cuz crodie is not even in the position for it to happen and I realize this shyt def takes some real skill to get there. Its some super head ass shyt too though. Jin and Yoshi are public enemy one to me. Nina probably would be too but that bytch is rare for me

Played a few sets right now and I can't even recognize this game. Tekken was always my favourite fighter but it's too far gone now. 6 was really the beginning of the end.

How are so many of y'all brehs getting to high rankings? I'm stuck at Flame Ruler, been a casual since Tekken 5. Do y'all understand frame rates and punishments? I thought only Tekken Pros got up to Tekken God rankings.
I'm just too lazy to lab and study frames n shyt.

You have to cheese your way to the higher ranks.. you can only beat cheese with cheese.. go to practice mode figure out what your safest moves are that puts you plus on block where your opponent have to guess the follow up.. figure out which pokes you have that has the most plus frames on hit where you opponent has to guess how to block and you get a free mixup and repeat the sequence.. I've played enough garbage ass eddys where this isn't foolproof advice lol. some nikkas just gon be ass no matter what gameplan you give them but yeah buddy should be able to get to blue ranks pretty easily spamming lidia or some shyt

If it works for the trash ass nikkas I come across up at the plat ranks then it will work for buddy ESPECIALLY if he using a top 10 character

shyt if you play feng you literally can probs get tekken king doing jabs ss 3 or 4 and the db3 (idk the notation, the super far range low)
his df1 is also 0 on block so comically spammable along with b1
