Did I just see Heihachi fukking Mishima shed a tear? :dwillhuh:

Yep, and it looks like this is REALLY the end. Heihachi is all kinds of gangsta, but he knows that he birthed all the evils that Kazuya, Jin, and others done. Now, karma is going to do him in by his deceased wife going after his soul.

Killing off Heihachi, Kazuya or Jin is a TERRIBLE idea..........

So brehs, what's a clever way to end the Mishima storyline with all three still alive and able to compete in the eventual 8th tournament?

Killing them kills the franchise

It doesn't. who says all 3 of em have to die also? and honestly most people could gave a damn about Tekken story lines. Its just like Soul Calibur, insanely incoherent and hard to follow. They can kill off Heihachi no problem and keep Kazuya or Jin alive and even have Jin knock up Ling Xiayou.

I wasn't referring to storyline purposes. Killing off favorite main characters will kill the series. People want to play as their favorites.

And despite Namco's fall from grace with their story lines, it's what separated them from the rest, it's what got them over. Unique fighting styles, interesting characters, and a over arching story that kept the fans' interest. Damn shame to see what Soul Calibur has become but that's another conversation.......

Would you remove Ken, Ryu, Akuma or Bison from Street Fighter? You see what happened when they created a great game but replaced favorite characters with the SF III series........

Tekken got away with it before unlike Street Fighter when they killed off Kazuya and created a new generation of fighters in Tekken 3. Tekken 3 was successful because the new characters were innovative and weren't cheap knock offs of replaced characters. Namco also kept the most popular characters from Tekken 2 around and aged them. Street Fighter 3 threw all the characters from 2 into the bushes and made knock offs like Remy, Necro, Twelve, etc, and tried to make a wrestler the main character.

Namco will definitely keep the most popular characters around and have the others show up in endings as mentors, trainers, etc.

Yes exactly! I get what you're saying, but like he said Tekken 3 was one of the best Tekkens! I loved playing as Kazuya, but the new characters were great! Now Soul Calibur, please dont bring up how terrible it has become, I remember the good ol days of Soul Calibur 2! game was amazing

They got away with killing off Kazuya, cua they introduced Jin, a player who plays alot like Kazuya. His fighting style was a mix of Kayuza and Jun (another popular character who was killed off). So, yea, it would be a bad idea if Tekken killed off Heihachi or Kazuya. The only Mishima they can get away with killing is Jin because they changed his fighting style in Tekken 4 and since then, his popularity as a fighter dropped (although people still like him for storyline purposes)
