Yo this is fire! I'm trying to download it can't find the link though.
The samples in your beats clash with the vocals
lets check this out
*edit*
Halfway through and I'm feelin a lot of the production, I just dont think they fit with the vocals. Like the Babyface record, his voice is too "soft" and feels like he's being dominated by the beat...and aggressive MC could have killed that.
That Montell Jordan & Brandy record (which should have been longer) go hard...
*continues listening*
On all of them?
Thanks for the feedback
Maybe, maybe not
I'm not that good at listening for what key a song is in or anything I usually have to figure it out with a keyboard
I heard clashing in most of the ones I played
it sounds like you just beatmatched acapellas to your beats without matching their keys
if they were raps then beatmatching alone would be fine but because the vocals have melodies you need to match the keys too
I feel on what you saying... you think the beats are decent without the vocals?
i like the Babyface and Ginuwine joints
yeah, I must concur with sentiments already stated: the beats are cool but don't mesh with the vocals.
When a singer laces a song, he sings in the key (e.g. A minor, or B flat major) that the rest of the backing instruments follow. When you, a producer, attempt to remix the song with samples that are in different keys than the original it instrumentation clashes with the vocals.
I mean, dissonance can be cool but usually when it's intended and done by design.
