NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I have noticed he loves punchlines and Multics. Even I he doesn’t know it or can’t articulate it, those type of MCs seem to be his favourite. Especially punchline cats like Big L. He might cream his pants if he hears a dope Lloyd Banks song off one of the early mixtapes or something lol. Flow is a big thing for him too, his favs are Big L, Bone and Nate Dogg. I have never called Nate Dogg a rapper but I could see why he would and why he would say flow rather than sing because new shyt these days cats are sing rapping all the time there’s basically
No difference.
His fav all time is Pac. But yea its Pac, Bone, Big L, Nate Dogg.

Yeah but Pac is on a diff level. I haven’t been a Pac Stan since 1997 but even I can acknowledge Pacs mastery. His passion is what bring most people to him THEN they hear the poetry in verses such as If I Die 2nite. But he’s a big fan of punchlines, as I was at that age. Flow and punchlines/slick witty shyt was my shyt back at that age. Which is why I loved The Art of Storytelling album and got into Lloyd Banks in my early 20s, as well as Big Ls peak obviously everything in that era that was punchline and flow heavy I was already into Bone and shyt like Tech N9ne back in the late 90s. Flow was a big thing for me back then, I’m a lot like this dude.

I love that he is erring shyt from every region too, that’s how I was back then, I listened to everything from south, west, east, mid west, I didn’t care as long as it sounded good to me.

not a big fan of reasonable doubt huh? i think this is the second time i've seen you be critical of it

yeah. RD is a little too RnB in feel for me. I think Jay's beats got better on Vol 2 and so did his flow. He's dropping more jewels on RD but the rhymes are cockier and more colorful after Vol 2.

This is the one with the craziest reactions..he had to rewind a few times when Big was going off!

I notice this kid is gravitating towards rappers like G Rap, Nas and Big. whom are all basically the same person. He has a type..

5 seconds into Big’s first verse & he knew he was hearing something crazy & special. You could literally see him thinking that. He sees how Big gives you that rewind factor which is rare nowadays

:whoo: I wasn't expecting this. obviously he fukk with it heavy

This is one of the most surprising choices he's made. Mostly because it's an album cut. And I'm glad he did: I slept on this joint. Beat slaps :whew:

These are my favorite type of West Coast beats. The slappers. Their shyt rarely slaps like this. I think it's a Daz thing. Nothin But a Cavi Hit has a similar vibe.

I dont think Ive rewound a verse since the late 90s:francis:
He needs to do Gimmie The Loot next if he wants lyrical madness..

He fukk wit this song hard. And he's clearly getting better at comprehending lyrics and adjusting to the style back then.
I've noticed the same. it's crazy how much I like this channel. It's like getting to relive a lot of early memories with songs, and I've also noticed like you that the dude is getting better at digesting more the more intricate wordplay from back then.

I think he should probably look up some artist(s) before he does songs so he knows who's rapping. I've noticed he says"I don't know if _____ is a group or not" alot. Bruh thought Common was two people :skip:

Played the hell out of that cut..so much so I was distracted from listening to the other tracks on the soundtrack..

I was wondering the same thing

off first listen and the reaction .. I don't really think he GOT IT GOT IT... he got some of it but not really.. without being in that era the African lines, pro black, hittin switches, sewer, boys in the hood, she moved out west etc...those went over his head...
