I'm not saying dude shouldn't have been shot. I'm asking why did the other dudes get charged for something they didn't do. They didn't have a gun or shoot the dude so why did they get charged for his murder?
And he was 15 at the time of the crime. Like come on I hate the system. The young man should do his time but 65 is excessive.

I don't understand the system prosecuting minors as adults for crimes they committed as minors.

He should have went to Juvinile and did his time and HELP the young brother change his life. It's sad the other guy lost his life. I don't condone the crime they committed. But that kid made his choice to point a gun at the cop. He was responsible for his actions as well as the others who were there. This is bullshyt.

So correct me if I'm wrong but the dude that got killed pointed a gun at the cops, they shot him and everyone else involved got charged with his murder?

What kind of cop protecting laws they have in Alabama? Surprised there aren't more of these stories. Sounds like a get out of jail free card for cops.

It's not just Alabama lol. google Death during commission of a felony

Felony Murder
The felony murder rule is a rule that allows a defendant to be charged with first-degree murder for a killing that occurs during a dangerous felony, even if the defendant is not the killer. The felony murder rule applies only to those crimes that are considered “inherently dangerous,” as the rationale underlying the felony murder rule is that certain crimes are so dangerous that society wants to deter individuals from engaging in them altogether. Thus, when a person participates in an inherently dangerous crime, he or she may be held responsible for the fatal consequences of that crime, even if someone else caused the actual death.

The felony murder rule is an exception to the normal rules of homicide. Normally, a defendant can be convicted of murder only if a prosecutor shows that the defendant acted with the intent to kill or with a reckless indifference to human life. Under the felony murder rule, however, a defendant can be convicted of murder even if the defendant did not act with intent or a reckless indifference; the prosecution must show only that the defendant participated in a felony where fatalities occurred.

I understand that the cops arent guilty but how are the people he was with guilty of his murder. That's weird to me. No gun, didn't fire a shot, didn't pose enough of a threat for the cops to shoot him so how is he guilty of somebody else's murder?

He will not serve nothing close to the 65 years. Trust me.

An independent lawyer will appeal this case on his behalf and poke major holes in that trial.

He's lucky that his case made national news.

Don't ask me nikka. lol, I ain't aint make the law.

I would imagine the purpose of the law would be to keep people from engaging in crimes with others.

for example.

Felony murder can arise in a variety of circumstances, many of which may seem surprising. For example, if a defendant and his partner attempt to rob a gas station and his partner fires a warning shot to scare the store clerk, but it accidentally hits another customer, both the defendant and his partner can be charged with murder, even though the defendant did not have the gun. Similarly, if a man sets fire to his neighbor’s shed because he does not like the shed and the fire spreads to another neighbor’s house, killing those inside, the man can be charged with murder even though he never intended to harm anyone. Because of these complexities, it is important to remember that involvement in an inherently dangerous crime that results in fatalities can lead to murder charges for all those involved.

I will be sure to not visit Alabama again.:camby:

What type of fukking law is that? :gucci:

But nikkas want to move back down to Southern Red States.:mjlol:

46 STATES HAVE THIS LAW ON THE BOOKS. NOT JUST THE SOUTH.

Unlike most murder charges, felony murder doesn’t require the intent to kill, only:

  • the intent to commit the underlying felony (the “predicate felony”), and
  • that someone died as a result of the felony.
If more than one person participates in the felony, all involved are equally responsible, even those who didn’t cause the death. In some cases, even those who weren’t present when the death occurred are responsible.

Example: Three people agree to burglarize a home; Al and Bill go inside while Carl acts as lookout. When the homeowner discovers the burglars, Bill shoots and kills him. All three are guilty of felony murder, even if Al and Carl didn’t know Bill was armed, and even though Carl was outside the entire time. (Bill is probably also guilty of old-fashioned first or second degree murder—either way, a judge would probably give him the harshest sentence.)

State Law
A few states have abolished felony murder, but most still have some sort of variation of it on the books. The rule’s application and the penalties vary from state to state.

In some states, felony murder is included in the definition of first degree murder. In others, it’s a less serious offense, typically second degree murder. In a few, it can be either first or second degree murder.

A guy I knew back in 07 got 60yrs on his boy's body. They were serving, undercover cop reached for money, my guy saw the gun the undercover had, figure he was getting setup, he pistolwhipped the cop, they took off and the cop shot his boy in the back. They put his partner's body on him. :beli:

The sentence is ridiculous, but breh was with his nikkas committing armed robbery :stopitslime:.

There are plenty of cases of us dealing with shyt in the legal system (Philando, Sandra, Tamir Rice, Trayvon etc.). Sure, he'd probably get more leniency if he was white, but when you're committing these kinds of felonies, you're taking your own life out of your hands and giving it to the state of Alabama (or any state for that matter). We got enough to deal with when living right.
