the irony is, if Purdy turns around and comes back from this and wins the game... it proves he isn't a game manager because they'd be expecting him to go out there and win the game.
But they'll dance around it and call it the defense, the run game, the coach - all the other things they claim carry him when the team is up and beating people. But they'll use those things if he comes back and gets the W despite him doing exactly what they claim he doesn't do.
