Because they scared to lose....and it's
Floyd's fault imo.
Im gonna use AB as an example. He's lost 2 fights to Top 10 opponents, and now nikkas wanna write him off as a "bum", "has been", "never was", etc. Mind you...he has 30 wins, only 2 losses, and is a 3x Champion. With the fans acting like you cant lose a fight to anyone, well....the fighters see this. You think they wanna be the "next Adrien Broner"? No. They dont wanna get slammed/disrespected/called a hype job all because they DID try and be the best, by fighting top competition, and came up short
That mentality has to change amongst the fans, because it's affecting the fighters. Back in the 80s? Hearns was loved. In 2015? Hearns would've been killed. 2 losses to Barkley (KO & SD), KO Loss and a Draw against SRL, KOd by Hagler....I mean come on. He would've been meme'd and twitter pic'd to death and called overrated
Well, the Boxing fan has become more like Floyd in where alot of people start to consider you a bum because you lost 1 fight...let alone 2 or 3 like they did 80s-90s
Imo, the Boxing fan's pressure on the fighter to remain "perfect" is causing these fighters to not risk losing, which in turn leads to us not getting the fights we should be
