The indictments hurt him in the general election with Independent voters needed to win in swing states. He lost the Independent vote to Biden in 2020. Unless the economy crashes or a big 3rd party shows up, he will lose them to Biden again.

With all these charges I think the timing sucks because most probably all won't go to trial until after the election. If it does go to trial, his lawyers can and will argue they cannot find a partial jury which will delay the process. If he wins, he'll simply pardon himself. The tinfoil hat part of me sometimes think all of this was planned.
