Are you serious? :gucci:

Cotto was able to hold down HARD shots from Canelo without even wincing. Those shots would've FOLDED JMM. What do you think little Marquez is gonna do to Cotto? lol. Yeah he'll land on him, but Cotto will eat those no problem.
considering who has hurt cotto..canelo is not the barometer to use for cotto's chin lol

Oh please.

Marquez' been hurt and dropped by little Michael Katsidis lol. Cotto has a better shot of hurting Marquez - not the other way around.

yeah katsidis can punch breh...esp at 135 where that fight took place :heh:

cotto goes the distance with canelo but could not handle sadam ali's power

putting the word little in front of marquez or katsidis is also odd to me..makes me think you havent watched too many of their fights lol

Marquez one of my all time favs :comeon:

I stand by Marquez being little. Cotto and Floyd are nearly exactly the same size. Go look at Floyd vs Marquez and see the difference.

Doesn't matter....Marquez goes 4 fights with Pacquiao without getting knocked out..Cotto got the brakes beaten off of him in one sided fashion by Pacquiao, a former flyweight champion...the same Cotto that had a competitive 8-4 ish fight with Big(:russ:) Canelo near the end of his career:heh:..you should never use Canelo as a barometer for Cotto's chin lol

None of that negates the fact that Marquez would have been folded by those shots - and Cotto ate them.

Also, Canelo took it easy on Cotto. Respected him a lot and didn’t go in trying to finish him. Cotto got caught and dropped by Pacquiao because he went in there mixing it up with him - swinging with him. Against Canelo, he boxed very cautiously.

Anyhow, I repeat, Cotto has the better chance of hurting Marquez - and I’m a bigger fan of Marquez.

Wow, looking at this poll...Ya'll have no respect for Cotto :bryan:

Now I really hopes he washes JMM :wtb:

Although I'd love to see some classic 4 punch combos land clean and effortlessly on Miguel too :takedat:

Cotto vs. Marquez Not Happening on June 12, Likely Moves To July

The anticipated exhibition fight between four division world champions, Miguel Cotto and Juan Manuel Marquez, will undergo a date change. The event will no longer take place on June 12 as originally announced.

The organizers are looking for alternative dates in July.

As soon as the date is confirmed, Cotto will head to Los Angeles to begin training with Hall of Fame coach Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Boxing Club.

"The date of June 12 is not going forward," confirmed Bryan Perez, CEO of Miguel Cotto Promotions, to Carlos Gonzalez.

"We are working on the different alternatives to stage the event in the summer because we want it to be something for the enjoyment of the fans."

Cotto and Marquez revealed this past March that they were fine-tuning the details for an exhibition match.

According to the organizers, the fight would have been scheduled for eight two-minute round, with the fighters wearing 14-ounce gloves and not wearing headgear.

“All the details are being negotiated. We are going to look at the dates and places available due to the COVID-19 restrictions and that is where we are,” said Pérez.

"June is just around the corner and there are many details that remain to be worked on."

During June, the schedule is loaded with Teofimo López against George Kambosos possibly landing on June 19th, and Floyd Mayweather meeting Logan Paul on June 6.

Meanwhile, Shakur Stevenson will return to the ring on June 12 in Las Vegas against Jeremiah Nakathila. On June 19, Japan's Naoya Inoue will risk two 118-pound championships against Michael Dasmarinas in Las Vegas.

On June 26, Gervonta “Tank” Davis will meet Mario Barrios on Showtime pay-per-view. And on that same night, Masayoshi Nakatani will face Vasyl Lomachenko.

“They are looking for dates that don't create conflicts with other events. June is full of events every weekend and the best alternative would be to avoid the scenario of competing with [other events] for the enjoyment of the fans," concluded Perez.

Tough call imo. I also think Cotto was a lot better in his showing in Canelo because he was way less chinny at the higher weights. He was draining back in his early days which is why he got knocked down sometimes. He was drained badly in that Pacquiao fight.

I can't call it.
