Yeah IDK what happened after goddess but all her other shyt sounding so dated and generic. shame, she had a lil sum with that first one.

FKA twigs regardless of her weirdo personal life is still the creme of this alt rnb female shyt imo.

There's been decent tracks on the last couple albums, but nothing as good and consistent as the first

I listened to a couple of songs on Spotify when I heard that Sounwave from TDE did some work on this.

Just based on the two songs I've heard, I'd actually be willing to listen to the whole album, but brehs gotta chill on calling her a great songwriter. Even though some of it is probably meant to be parodic, it's some of the most self involved narcissistic shyt I've heard in a minute. Any other artist probably gets roasted like shyt for this.

Also, having that many versions of one album is smart, but fukking nasty work. There's some idiot out there that collected all four colors of the physical version, with the special display case, and STILL has to stream this shyt because none of those have the other seven tracks she put out all of three fukking hours later. Again, anyone else gets fukking ROASTED for this shyt.

its pretty ironic she has Lana Del Rey on this. She does the self parody, tongue in cheek, self referential, narcissistic shyt 80 times more convincingly.

better music in her career too

Crazy part about this is Hip Hop fans would've never mentioned a Shania Twain, Faith Hill, or a LeAnn Rimes in a Hip Hop discussion and Shania almost went double diamond, but nobody was comparing her numbers to Hip Hop numbers or using the numbers to downplay Hip Hop artists.

That was a different time. Hip hop wasn’t watered down like it is today. Those artists weren’t using hip hop producers.
Drake could have made this song from the new Taylor Swift album and no one would bat an eye.

I’m not familiar with songs from any of the country artists you named above, but my strong suspicion is Biggie, Pac or Jay wouldn’t have been able to do their songs.

Drake' sings. Bigge and Pac didn't unless it was something like "Playa Hater" or an occasional hook.

That's not an excuse. Justin Timberlake used the same producers as Jay Z and 20 years ago, they both dropped albums that had Timbaland and The Neptunes all over the albums like a week apart. I don't recall anyone comparing Justified and BP2.

They were all Country/Pop crossover artists that weren't brought into Hip Hop conversations, yet here we are and people are on here actually comparing Taylor Swift to Hip Hop. Just shows the quality of this board and further proves @spliz was onto something when he said posters on The Coli are anti-Hip Hop.

Sounwave, Kendrick's main producer, did that song and some others on the album. It def sounds like something you can hear Drake/SZA/etc on. I'm not a Taylor person - I've only heard like 3 songs - but I remember she first came out as a country pop artist known as a songwriter, playing guitar etc. At some point she became a pop artist. I remember when Shake It Off came out for instance and that could have been a Katy Perry song, it was so generically pop. I gotta find a white woman at work to ask my Taylor Swift lore questions to lmao but I'm curious about that shift to pop. Are there Swift fans who prefer the older stuff and don't fukk with pop Swift? I don't know why I give a shyt but I'm curious lol.

shes the female drake cause kind of how the drake of 2010 and the drake of 2022 are supper different people she switches her sound and look with every album

Madonna did the same thing for 20 years .. Taylor a good business person and she has a good team around her but thats it ..she never as good as the people she miimics again like drake but since she good at making lyrics that are good for instagram and tiktok she got a lot of longevity.

but drake would be chased around toronto for sell the same album in four different color ways

She basically owns the vinyl industry to the point everybody's else has to wait since there are very few vinyl pressers.

Smart move I'm surprised more rappers aren't on.
Vinyl only would appeal to certain types of rappers and a good amount of them are already on the wave

Alchemist and the artists he works with have been feasting off vinyls. I saw Tyler The Creator vinyls at a friend's crib
