Savages is getting real legit press tho b. Synopsis sounds stupid, but all the buzz around it is making it sound like a 2012 version of Blow.

It's the first Oliver Stone movie without a "message" in years, so it can't be a disappointment, can it?

I disagree, inexplicably Channing Tatum has turned into a marketable movie star this past year. So it can happen but the success or failure is based on pure chance.
I think that the age of Hollywood anointing people as The Next Big Thing is over though as evidenced by the failures of Kitsch and Alex Pettyfer.

Nowadays it has to happen organically, I don't see studios being able to just make people stars anymore. And you have a point about Hartnett, he was supposed to be the next big thing and he failed to generate any box office interest.
