Tavaris Jackson should be going in as the Camp starter. Despite him being an avg/below avg QB, dude has been a starter for most of his career. I will take a proven to be mediocre starter over a rookie and an unproven Matt Flynn. Besides the Seahawks are essentially San Francisco lite. They are predicated on the run game/defense. The QB's role is to keep the defense somewhat honest and to the protect the football vs be a playmaker.

Why the hate for Jackson? Dude is average but ya'll making it like he Ryan Leaf or Kyle Boller status. There were 12 qb's last year with worst passer ratings. Dude is not that bad, damn.

You know how sport's work now. The worst thing a player can be is average. Everyone wants greatness, but don't realize how rare that shyt actually is. In most people's eyes if you aren't great then you're terrible. I've heard arguments from Seahawks fans that didn't like Tavaris because he was "just good enough to keep them from getting a top 5 pick."

He is a average qb who will win you some games. Hell, who knows he could take them into the playoffs. You got some cats on here like "OMG he is sooooo terrible, OMG" Like have some of you dudes really seen a bad NFL qb before. Some of the cats I've seen start in the league will make him look like Joe Montana.

Tavaris does know the playbook. Hell, he's been in that system for several years now so this isn't surprising.

It's true though. Being average just buys you more time to ultimately not reach expectations. At least if you suck you know it's something you clearly have to fix.

Average cats still have things to fix. The public's patience with them is shorter than terrible QB's. The average QB's are getting better it's just the amount they're improving is at a smaller percentage. Folks fall in love with the big jumps from terrible to average rather than average to mildly above average. There's people who would take Tebow over Tavaris/Alex Smith because of the Tebow's "improvement", but they're both better QBs than Tim. Taking potential over average production is a ridiculous notion, but it's acceptable now.

True, but people view average production as a sign that the improvement isn't coming, especially with fans /front office guys because their jobs depend on how fast you get your shyt together and fans just don't have much patience if you're in win now mode.
