stop trying to claim european brand labels. those labels have been the top selling brand since late 70s and 80s. Unless you have proof and numbers that can back up your claim that hip hop turned those labels into the top selling brands, everything you are saying is irrelevant. Versace, Gucci etc were already some of the top selling brands before rappers started promoting it. The only new consumers that rappers introduced those brands too were black inner city community. middle class american, europeans were already well ahead on those labels. Vesace and Gucci had already broken out internationally worldwide by the 80s. years before rappers started to get on it. and you know who were responsible for that? The supermodels of the 80s. It was rappers that came on late to it in the early 90s
you have no shame The only brand that hip hop was responsible for turning into top selling brands were Tommy Hilfiger and Timberland. but those brands are all dead, while Gucci and Versace are still around because they have always been around before the 90s. lol @ trying to claim responsibility for Hermes as if most rappers even talk or rap about it.
and lets be honest, most people here do not visit the booth to discuss hip hop so your point is moot. like I said before, it's been dead the last several years. TLR, the coliseum, the arcadium are all more active than the booth. nobody comes on here to discuss hip hop. this website was created mostly for sports. it was that subzeroo breh from the coliseum who helped bring up the idea of creating a separate website independent of sohh.
Capri Holding’s, Versace’s new owner due to its $2.1 billion acquisition of the iconic Italian brand is vying for a bigger stake with urban consumers by opening 300 new stores by 2022. Could their expansion plans tap into the mutual admiration that lingers to this day between Versace and the hip hop community, in an effort to control debt and increase sales?
The Breakdown You Need to Know
The Medusa and gold barocco prints that Versace is well-known for has draped the silhouette of many hip hop artists for decades, and these new store openings may make the brand more accessible.Versace currently has 188 stores globally, 28 of them are in the U.S. and they plan to renovate them to reach its goal of doubling annual sales along with their $2 billion revenue target.
CultureBanx reported that Versace boasts more than 14 million Instagram followers, making it perhaps the most influential social media platform for luxury brands. This directly impacts black consumers since they are the biggest user group on Instagram at 43%, according to Pew Research. The fashion labels upcoming campaigns will be more focused on products and marketed across social media. More money will be spent on marketing for Versace as part of their restructuring strategy, from campaigns to how the brand can drive consumers to its site.
again. hip hop only help expanded it's brand amongst AAs.
What the hell is wrong with you
where in the world did you see me use the word ((claim))
I said the word influence & I assume you understand definition
I’ll repeat … these European designers were only exclusive to the upper class / rich , but when we started rocking them in the early 80s with the growth of the culture it may those European companies go to another level

white people were already on it long before AAs started rocking it
no suburban or upper class white woman or trust fund baby was rocking Versace because of hip hop. they were already on it. AAs hopped on to it late. Asians in asia for sure don't rock Gucci and Versace because of hip hop. They rock it because they've been the most prestigious brands since the 80s. Supermodels have more impact in spreading those brands far east than hip hop. because it's mostly asian women out there that where those. come up with something better.
I was born and raised in Cali, so try again. according to the US government, I'm just as American as you and have the same rights and there is nothing you can do about it
As far as culture, west africans do not need the validation from other races like you to boast our self esteem and self worth.

and I told you that all those brands(Versace and Gucci) were already top brands in the 80s long before hip hop started promoting heavily.
I’ve proved that you’re a goddamn moron
u brought up all these European companies, then i came with receipts on Versace literally one of the most influential high-end brands changing their most popular shades name to “biggie” to honor the GOAT & them being brought for several billion with the notion of adding hundreds of stores to tap in to the urban hip-hop market which propelled them to even higher status within fashion
your family must be from Liberia … because whether you like it or not you just gonna have to hold this L
Ain't them nikkas all from the Islands. Biggie, Alpo, and Roxanne.
