I don’t know if Tariq is a dead beat or not but what I do know is that child support is too unfair to just assume that he wasn’t handling his business.

When I went to court they saw my income and they went to town on me and I had been in my sons life every minute of the way. His mom and I lived together and I paid every bill in the house but when our relationship went south because of DV on her part the cops said I had to move out.

I spent every last penny in savings rebuilding my life from scratch and the judge made me pay back child support for the first 30 days I was gone even though I bought my son diapers, formula, and clothes.

So not only did I spend all my money leaving my place because my sons mom was violent and I called the cops, the judge used that as a justification to further abuse me.

So I got hit with 1440 monthly child support payment for a year and then the county came after me cuz she got aid. That’s how I got hit and the span between me leaving and me paying child support was 30 days.

They put me majorly in the red overnight when I was already in the red so I can’t judge anyone without the facts. He could have been paying her 2k a month but the judge says it should have been 5k and added up the 3k delta retroactively and have him a huge debt.

First, I applaud you for cutting your losses and knowing when to leave an abusive relationship.

It's hard for me to give tariq the benefit of the doubt about child support because, the multiple documented liens and money issues point to issues way bigger than "an unfair family court system."
