alright....
this is pretty good.
bought whole bean, grinded it in house, and brewed espresso, made an americano. Got a pretty good shot.
Its a very middle-of-the-road coffee in a good way; not in terms of quality but i mean taste. It has a light chocolate/cocoa taste, it isn't significantly bitter or dark, its a great bean.
I'd put it above any of the store coffees of course. I'd put it above brands like Peets (Major dikkenson's blend is a B+), Sumptown (B), or starbucks (their best is a B to B-...sbux espresso is actually underrated, because their coffee roasts are so bad) of course.
I'd put
STORYVILLE over it (my favorite, best in the world to me), but that is high praise. [other than the rare Peaberry roasts...which are incredible when i come across them]
I'll give it a solid A-. I'll brew a shot this evening to drink it as a doppio and get a sense of the taste straight up. Enjoyable coffee for sure.
