Played about 2 hours so far. Nothing that cacs would call woke so far besides just black people existing. Solid little metroidvania. Power set switching combat is pretty fun.
The standout though is the music and sound. Absolutely fukking fantastic job on the sound overall. Might be the thing that pushes me to finish the game
I'm fighting Impudulu right now... This game fun as hell
It feels so good to control that I'm not even mad that they had me backtrack a couple times. The character is super reactive and agile and the platforming sequences just feel nice to go through.
Bamba's stone and the spear are the gameplay highlights for me so far
Freezing the water while moving about is so cool. And now that I got the spear, both platforming and fighting just got taken up yet another notch Jumping around, switching masks, freezing enemies and throwing spears mid-air, juggling enemies and throwing them into the environment...
Soundtrack continues to bang and the lore is pretty dope.
I wonder what led
the lands of Kenzera to be deserted. The Ikakarambas had to deal with a storm but what happened to the rest of the region?
I just unlocked Zaawaadi()'s hook. Seems very fun already, how you can angle your trajectory on the fly is dope.
Man, the direction for that entire woods section is so dope. They look and feel so dense and grounded, and you feel like you're going through a maze the deeper you go, which is fitting plot-wise.
I also like that it seems like we're tackling a different stage of grief in this section, desperately fighting against the inevitable.
The gameplay sections are still as fun and well-balanced. I feel like I'm getting better and better.
I hate that I heard about this game because of the backlash, because it's legit amazing and doesn't deserve to be attacked because of it's association with SBI, which I think is cap. Those dorks would've found any reason to hate on this.
I hope this game enjoys some success. It deserves to. It's so fun, and the art direction is A+.
