With everything going on with “budget cuts,” got me thinking of wrestlers they had opportunities to build and failed over the decades.

Braun - coulda been a dominant hoss, but dude turned into a comedy act. :snoop:

Elias - dude was over for a moment, then he disappeared into oblivion. (Not a fan of him, but he coulda been a solid midcard/upper midcard guy.)

Balor - the Demon thing was over. He still might have a chance now.

Authors of Pain - great tag team. They were instantly dumbed down when they were called up. Injuries may have contributed to what happened.

I was bout to do a thread like this yesterday but I can give out many scenarios where Cokeboy burned money

Burying WCW and ECW with the Invasion angle in 2001.. Making the talent 3 fiddle to a already tired Mchmahon family storyline and also being too cheap in bringing in the heavy talent(NWO, Sting, Goldberg, Flair etc)

Allowing Taker to BURY DDP and Mike Awesome

The NWO starting with a spark and becoming garbage by Mania

Keeping Austin heel when the crowd wanted him face summer 2001

Cooling off Goldberg in Summerlslam 2003

Sandow and Kennedy for sure

And Elias(pending)...dude could legit get the crowd going heel or face...a rarity. But they're about to push RyKKKer instead :francis:

I always hated Braun, like from day one. The Fiend was sick though, I get that he can’t go on squashing people forever but there’s a way it could’ve been done I’m sure. Plus he got way to over exposed

As for other names named in this thread:

I think Finn does just fine

Elias should never be considered more than comedy heel jobber status with that gimmick

AOP were cool I agree, I could see them being 3 minute warning

Mike Awesome was cheeks but they did DDP grimey

Sandow sucked always did, he got all the chances in the world post-WWE to be the guy ppl made him out to be, Kennedy did himself in

Shelton that first run deserved better and that racist ass mammy character they put as his manager was the worst thing ever, he should’ve been presented like The Varsity Club or something and put with someone serious that could talk for him and kicking everyone’s ass. He wasn’t the same when he came back though

Elijah Burke, dude could’ve easily been a bigger star if they put the machine behind him

I maintain til this day that both TNA and The WWE fukked up HEAVILY by not doing more with He or Monty Brown.

Burke was exactly what they were looking for in a cocky, arrogant youg heel who could work the mic and could give you a good to great match, and Brown... breh. Brown was MONEY. There's NO reason he shouldn't have gotten a world title out of either fed.
