I like Takeover more, it's more quoteable, multiple phrases have entered our lexicon. "smarten up nas" "we don't believe you, you need more people" so on and so forth.

The doors sample was crazy, the hook was crazy, Jay went at everybody. It's the better diss record.

Ether was, juvenile. IFW Nas heavy though.

It had NO EFFECT on jay!!?!?

Shall I provide receipts :sas1:

AllHipHop.com: So real talk how was it like around the offices when Nas dropped “Ether”?

Memphis Bleek: [Laughs] It was a gloomy day, for real. When [Funkmaster] Flex played it, I ain’t going to lie, I admitted to myself and had to tell the big homey he got us, he got one up on us. That s**t was cooked crack cocaine right there. Like it was no denying that record was hot as s**t, it was a bunch of lies on that record, but it was still a hot record. One that is going down in history, you know what I mean. We were at Baseline Studios listening to the radio when we first heard it. Jay and everybody was saying this s**t’s hot.“

Beanie Sigel on Jay being under pressure after Ether

I’m not worried about Nas. I did that, already. I did that already, in defense of [Jay]. I was there when dude was in the studio, on the couch, scratching his head under pressure.”

And I will not lose for EVEN IN DEFEAT/There’s a valuable lesson learned so it evens it up for me.

Ether was cute and got Nas a little love, but in the end it had NO EFFECT what so ever on Jay Z. When folks mention the GOATS, they say Big, Pac, and Jay Z. I never heard anyone mention Nas as a goat till I got on internet message boards :mjlol:

So what did Jay Z go on to accomplish after the so called best diss of all time?
55 MILLION RECORDS SOLD WORLD WIDE..(compared to 25 for Nas :mjlol:)

Have a net worth of $810 Ms

Marry Beyonce and start a beautiful family (meanwhile Nas getting took to court because he couldnt control his bytch from giving milkshakes to all the boys in the yard)

On his way to becoming a billionaire

Became a culture ICON all around the world..

Takeover one of the best disses ever..Ether was

Never seen so many in denial stanleys in my life :dead:

I’m speaking pure facts. Jay Z got way more love down south than Nas. Nas is overrated he dropped 1 good album and all of a sudden he’s a goat.

Hov’s career speaks for itself the man is a icon. You know his impact is big when he can transcend regions. Y’all mad cause Nas only became relevant nation wide after these internet boards popped up

Jay can drop a project now and it will shut the internet down. Nas drops something and it’s doing great value numbers
