Wait, so pardon my stupidity right now but are we going to have to buy phones at wholesale price ($600) or contract price ($50-300)?

Lets say the new HTC One cost $699. You you pay $99 upfront which would leave a balance of $600. So $24 monthly payments (2yrs) = $600. You will have the option of a bigger down payment if you wish or pay it off early.

So if me and my girl both got iPhones
We could get unlimited everything for $100

Nope for a 2 line account $80 for unlimited talk, text and 500 MB per line. Add the $10 data per line for 2 GB. For unlimited on both lines it will cost you $120, $20 per line.

Either way, it looks like:

So $99 up front for the phone, and $15-$25 a month added to your phone plan until the phone is payed off

Yes Sir!

are they gonna take off my 30 dollar plan? :damn:

As far I know this does not affect their prepay plans such as monthly 4g. That $30 plan is only sold thru Walmart so that should not be affected.

:ohhh:
Due to launch on 3/24 T-mobile will be doing away with the traditional contract plans. There will be no more phones on subsidy's. You will have the option to do a equipment installment plan (EIP). The initial down payment of up to $99 and installments of $15, $20 or $25 depending the cost of the handset.

Plans:

Single line starts at $50 for unlimited talk, text and 500MB of data. For $10 you can add 2GB data (if you go over you will automatically be charge $10 for each 2GB you use up to 12GB). For $20 you can have unlimited data. Both plans includes hotspot (tethering).

Family plans start at $80 for 2 lines with unlimited talk, text and 500MB of data for each line. You can add additional lines for $10 each which comes with the same unlimited talk, text and 500MB data.

For $10 you can add 2GB data per line (if you go over you will automatically be charge $10 for each 2GB you use up to 12GB). For $20 you can unlimited data per line. Both plans includes hotspot (tethering). Yes you can mix and match features to each line. Example: $10 on one line for 2.5 GB, $20 on another line for unlimited data and Grandma $0 for her 500MB per month.

I think this will be a good look for T-mobile. The hard part will be to get the masses use to the idea that phone subsidy's are bad in the long run and more expensive.

All this is contract free! Essentially your phone payment is your contract once that is payed off you are free. Of course if you bring your own phone or buy it outright there is no contract.

I went from Sprint to T-Mo with this same plan and got that Nexus 4 at lunch. She told me 70 for unlimited and I hit her with the :rudy:

I'm still waiting to get my bill to believe it.

The difference between Sprint and T-Mobile's coverage is :mindblown: right now.

I'm going to be dumb and ask this even though I know the answer. Better or worse? And where you live?

Sprint is fukking terrible for me. Only reason I'm still there is cause the shyt is cheap.

I have a Galaxy S3 now but it will be Nexus devices from here on out if the pricing on those joints is gonna be around $350 outright. Get a pure android phone w/ all the updates and a cheap plan.

Unfortunately for T-Mobile, they need to do a stellar job marketing this because people aren't going to immediately understand how much they save in the long run going this route.

Yeah that's the hard part. Marketing will make or break this.

I have unlimited everything for $63 a month including taxes using T-Mobile and i have the S3.

It was $70, but they knocked me down 10 bucks every month for being a loyal customer for the duration of my contract.

This is still too much, but I guess if you want to use a smartphone, this might be the best deal going

If you are of the few on a dumb/feature phone just stay with the $50 plan or go with T-mo cheaper Go mobile for 35 a month unlimited talk and text.
