LTE takes the speed crown for sure, but HSPA+ 42 is fine enough for me, even if I get half those speeds. I'm not trying to download torrents and shyt from my phone, so I never got caught up on the whole speed thing. As long as my web pages and videos load up fast, I'm fine with that. I'd rather not take the battery hit using LTE until the battery technology gets better.

It's the same phone, someone fukked up on the specs. If t-mobile confirms it's 42mbps then the N4 from the google store is also 42mbps.

That 42Mbps is BS. My GNexus was purported to get 21 but I routinely saw a fraction of that speed, assuming I got service. A nikka used to loose reception the minute I left the city limits!

Sigh people don't understand how radios work. HSPA+ 21 or DC 42 are the theoretical max speed. Also it depends on your area, backhaul to the cell site and current traffic in your area. Also how well the phone built in radio is set up, all play a factor in the speed you actually get. For instance most LTE now is rated at 75 mbs. Nobody gets that speed on LTE.

For example: HSPA+ DC 42 mbps with all things being equal you should get

Highly congested area during peak times around 8-10 mbps average

Off peak times: 15-20 mbps average

Low congestion/Off peak time: 20+ mbps average

Which is very good speeds with good battery life.

Fuctoinlly you are not missing anything other than the LTE buzzword.

Tmobile breh! There is a reason the service costs the least trust me. Especially coming from Verizon. I would put Verizon's 3G over Tmobile's so called "4G". The shyt is not consistent at all. And be prepared to only get those speeds literally standing next to the cell tower. ATT and Verizon are the only companies using actual 4G technology in LTE. Far more consistent speeds with LTE in general.

Thats a speed test I just did on the Note 2 on tmobiles 4G (hspa+42)

Those speeds are always consistent too

I got a tmobile and att plan and tmobile is faster then att

I usually get 10-12 mbs on att

There's no doubt that Verizon lte is the fastest but tmobiles 4G aint far behind

My home connection is only 25 mbs so 20 is more then fast enough for my phone

If you would have said AT&T then maybe I would be inclined to agree with you, but ALL CDMA 3G is ass.
