what’s so important about 21 Savage’s album? I’m a fan, but it just seems like a weird inclusion on a “most important” list….it could never have existed and the story and trajectory of ATL rap wouldn’t have been altered much…jeezy not being included has to be some “he’s not really from Atlanta” shyt….cause otherwise the list makes no sense with no TM 101

I don't see why people are surprised that TM101 isn't on the list. Is it important? Yes. You could definitely make the argument that it may be one of the Top 5 most important ATL albums. Still, I could see him debating his own Trap Muzik and TM101, which kind of cancel each other out unless you include both, but then there's albums like Flockaveli that are in that bracket as well.

No Kris Kross or Ludacris on the list?

:mjtf:

None of Luda's albums are top 5 important. Important, I'd argue Incognegro or Back For The First Time. Maybe even Word of Mouf, but no.

Kriss Kross? While being from Atlanta, they really weren't a sound or style one would readily associate with Atlanta. Might as well include Arrested Development.

Should have had Back For The First Time. That album shifted everything for ATL. People hate to give Luda his props but he paved the way for all these dudes. And yeah Thug Motivation should have been on there too
Now you know why Luda wouldn’t be in his list. But he wouldn’t be in mine either. TM 101 Jeezy needs a mention as well as Pastor Troy & Gucci

Glad he mentioned Southernplaylistic. Seems to get the least mention out of all OutKast albums but it’s my personal favorite.

Might be my favorite as well. I definitely have it above Stankonia, for instance.

You could argue that Kris Kross should be included by virtue of establishing the foundation of Jermaine Dupri’s style who just might be the most seminal Atlanta hip hop related artist of all (or maybe “Funkdafied”. I doubt anyone would put “Life in 1472” on any top 5 list).

Does he have beef with Jeezy??
Naw they actually good friends. That’s what makes this a clear dishonest list to be real. Kast and the MOB was his true answers. And he might like that project for future too. So we can give him those 3. But he know damn well he not rating nothing 21 or thug got better than Jeezy first or second album honestly. That was a political answer. Trying to appeal to the youth. If he could have had one more slot, he would have referenced lil baby

It may have established JD's style, but what it didn't do much if anything to establish Atlanta. If people mention Kriss Kross in relation to Atlanta, it's one of two things:

1) they got discovered in Greenbriar Mall

2) their debut more than anybody else from Atlanta until Stankonia. Same could be said for Arrested Development too though.

Kriss Kross was more of a group that happened to be from Atlanta than vs a group that was unapologetically Atlanta.

Ghetto Mafia - Draw the line
Jeezy - Thug Motivation 101
Outkast - Atliens
Luda - Word of mouf
Pastor Troy - face off

T.I. has three albums that would go on the list before Word of Mouf. Any of the first five Kast albums would be on the list before Word of Mouf.
