i'm 6'2" 220, good muscle mass/development, but i have long ass arms, so it took me years to even get to benching 5x5 reps of 265 - 275 on chest day
since i've been having shoulder discomfort w/ flat bench, i decided to focus more on wide-grip weighted dips. i usually use about 100 lbs - 125 lbs in plates. steadily going up.
my chest looks so much wider now . flat bench really accentuated my lower chest, to the point where it would appear out my shirt, but it wasn't aesthetically nice.
dips don't place as much strain on my joints personally, either as the benching motion. i know some people have experienced discomfort with it, but i try to make sure my form is good.

of course, i also do decline, incline and flies to burn out.
