This has been an entertaining week
Knowing the japanese work culture of working till you drop dead and how isolationist Nintendo is, it wouldn't surprise me if most of the execs are 60+ japanese men that needed 3 gens to be convinced that in-game chat is a thing that gamers want.I'm one of the Nintendo fans on here, but God damn it's a dumb decision not to offer it as a pack-in like they did with Wii Sports.
Part of what made Reggie Fils-Aime and Satoru Iwata great leaders is that they were consumer-minded and had a great understanding of how build loyalty to Nintendo as a brand. It was Reggie that pushed for Wii Sports to be included on the Wii; even Miyamoto fought him on it. He said "We're Nintendo. We don't give away our work for free." Fils-Aime said they had to push something that showed the potential of the Wii to non-gamers.
That decision was the single best decision the company had made since buying the Pokemon Company. Wii Sports turned the Wii into blockbuster.
I just don't know if there's a voice in their C-Suite that's taking that longterm perspective right now.
Since Reggie left and Iwata passed away, there hasn't been that type of voice in the company sinceI'm one of the Nintendo fans on here, but God damn it's a dumb decision not to offer it as a pack-in like they did with Wii Sports.

Prices bout to go insaneThis should've been free. No one is going to buy this nonsense. Their pricing strategy screams arrogance. I can see Sony and MS doing the same with increasing the price of games.
BMW playbook shytDefinitely the most flagrant move out of that whole Direct. Just nickel and dime-ing for the love of the game![]()
