It would be an enormous mistake for sometimes Keith to try and KO Danny...He's got to maintain distance and keep those legs moving...

I want to ride with Danny on this one, he always tends to rise to his competition...His inability to cutoff the ring worries me but he tends to work angles and box a lot better when he's not in the ring with a can everyone is expecting him to KO...One of the things he did very well against Matthysse is let him come to him, used the jab and setup the big left...Patience is key here for Danny, Keith is going to be moving but he tends to trade...

Sparring isn't good for your long term health though, only so many hits you can take, you want to minimize that shyt as much as you can.

IMO sparring is the most important tool in fight preparation. The key thing about sparring is timing. Really, you are only supposed to spar a certain amount unless you have an issue with timing. Once trainer sees the timing he wants to see, sparring should be tapered off if not shut down completely. Toney was a different situation. He actually sparred like nikkas play pick up ball. He just loved fighting. So yeah, he really overdid it.
