Based off the intial previews some months back, I only had minimal interest for this at best but.. well, this actually is a damn good well put together, well thought out show. 
Between this and Power, Starz is putting in work with the black-centric dramas. I'd still rather see some black-centric fiction that didn't just focus on drugs, sports or slavery but if it's gotta go in one of those directions, I prefer sports and I prefer it be thought-provoking where the actual 'sports' aspect takes a back seat to other issues/behind the scenes issues. I think this show so far excels at that.
