This fight is at 160 right? :lupe:
Not quite as razor thin, but close to what Brook was doing. Brook had to make weight for each weigh in up to the fight.

That was a surprise because he was coming up from WW. Jacobs notoriously has struggled to make 160 and is considering a move to 168 within a year.

Really? All people talk about is how boxing is dying, especially now that Floyd is done. WWE > UFC > Boxing atm.

lmao what people, people that don't follow boxing anyay

Kell brook is fighting Eroll Spence in a bigger arena than he fought GGG in

Anthony Joshua and Wladimir is another big fight, just had kovalev and ward

Thurman and Garcia are fighting which is a big fight
Canelo and Chavez Jr is already full of fukkery

boxing is thriving,

Nah...
Boxing still has the most money in it and it's an old sport it exists for a long time and it doesn't go anywhere. Lots of talent right now and this year picked up very good in terms of matchmaking and all.

I don't want to knock the UFC (MMA) or anything but it's a lot younger than boxing and just because it had short term success I wouldn't be sure that this won't change in the future. The main appeal of MMA right now that it's clearer, people can see it through, less politics etc... but I think these are mainly the results of the sport itself being young. Let's wait just a decade and see how clear can it be. Right now the hierarchy is clear, UFC/Dana White above all the other organizations/promoters but I'd betvthat this will change and then MMA fans will have just as much or more trouble with politics and matchmaking as we do.

If I would have to pick strictly one which will be more likely around 50 years later I'd pick boxing.

And let's not include WWE here, not the same category. WWE is literally pure theater/entertainment (it needs athleticism, skills abd etc but it's prewritten and that's known) while boxing and MMA have those elements too thry are still professional sport afterall

Jacobs has been training in Oakland, California, for more than a month for the biggest fight of his nine-year pro career, which also will be televised via pay-per-view by HBO Sports. “I just think it’s really disrespectful that they’re negotiating to fight Canelo in September,” Connolly said. “I understand that there’s a business side to the equation, but they’re totally wasting their time. Danny is looking amazing in training camp and not only is he gonna win on March 18th, we think he’s gonna knock out Triple-G in the first half of the fight.” Like Chavez in his fight against Alvarez, Brooklyn’s Jacobs is a big underdog, slightly more than 5-1, three weeks in advance of his 12-round fight against Kazakhstan’s Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs). The 30-year-old Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) is bigger than Golovkin, though, and generally regarded as the best combination of boxer and puncher that Golovkin, 34, has agreed to fight during a pro career that began in May 2006. “They think they’re helping their position by negotiating this Canelo deal,” Connolly said, “but it’s only spurring Danny on to train even harder to prove everybody wrong. It has definitely given Danny extra motivation. He’s totally feeling overlooked and disrespected, and Triple-G is gonna pay for that come March 18th.” - See more at: Jacobs' Adviser: Golovkin Will Pay on 3/18 for Canelo Negotiations - Boxing News

I think Danny has a chance, but he is going to have to go the Willie Monroe Jr. route or the Garcia/Lucas route and go into the heart of the beast, like Curtis Stevens did, jab him but when he engages he has to do it from the inside and he has to bang the body.

I think if he does that, he'll be able to transition 2nd half of the fight and try to box him late nd set him up for the knockout coming in

WWE, Boxing, UFC all have the same business model though. Yeah, wrestling is scripted, but it's the same exact business model. That's why the comparisons are made.
