Nah though but forreal I agree with you on some level. I'll still contribute a little bit to a black business even if it isn't great, specifically if they're just starting out. I won't continuously invest though unless the service/product keeps improving just like any other business.

i work for a small business that is korean owned. everyone they fukk with is korean. their bankers...korean. their accountants...korean. they always ordering korean food for the office, etc. they keepin all their money in their korean circles.
put the thought in my head to go black with my money. first thing i did was find a black tax guy around my way. made an appt with him. his office was in his house so i drove to his house. knocked on the door...called his phone...no answer. sat in my car for 30 minutes and waited before i finally left.
nikka called me 2 days later talkin about sorry he missed our appointment he had to step out the house real quick and get something at the store. i was like, yeah but i waited outside for a half hour...and you had my number you coulda let me know...i took off work that day and drove 30 minutes to meet up with you. he was like, yeah my bad just come on down tomorrow. and we dont take checks by the way.
i was like, well you need to take a check....cause u need to CHECK YO SELF. moral of the story something similar has happened before. black businesses need to aspire to providing blacks with the best possible business, then start expecting blacks to exclusively go black owned. not provide a half ass service and expect nikkas to go with you just cause you're black.

I voted also. But I gotta big this up too. I would love to support more black owned biz, but unfortunately, there's a unconscious mistrust for one another in our community. The Polish keep their money circulated within their own. The Greeks do. The Jews do. And especially in Detroit the Middle Eastern/Chaldean do. WE DONT. We can go on for hours as to why this is though. I'd never say that what services and products our community does produce is not up to par - because they are. The product is usually superior or just as good as taking your money somewhere else. But for me and people I've know, it's the presentation that comes with the product. You talk to someone about biz or a potential project and they answer their cell cursin out their baby mama. Comin up in the spot smellin like straight up like herb - IN JORDANS.
And we all know the biggest one....askin for the hookup!! lol I think more of would would be happy to support but we sometimes think there's some underlying bs that's gonna pop off as a result.

re uppin this cause i went to another tax guy today. he was black as well. he came down to his office on a sunday, his day off, just to meet up with me cause sundays are the only days i get off this month. gave me a discount on the services he provided for me. gave me some good tax advice for my 2012 filing. all in all very pleased. he's located in a city thats like 90 percent white. i think thats the secret...fukk with black owned business owners who have predominately white customers. they HAVE to go above and beyond cause they know them white folk are going to hold them to a much higher standard.
