That's actually kind of hilarious.Trains are spontaneously derailing in the greater Metropolis/Smallville area, and instead of thinking "why didn't we build in safety systems", the news is like "How come Superman didn't show up to save them all!!"
It's not like trains are constantly going off the tracks in our Superman-free real world. The fact that Superman exists is an excuse to skim off all the money that would have been spent on fixing the damn train tracks.
