Gunn knows how to play goofy concepts with heart. He did an entire holiday special about Kevin Bacon.

Those Superman robots are straight Silver age nonsense and it’s in the trailer.
I don't know people would like Silver Age depicted on film. Not only were the stories and concepts wacky but Superman is an a$$hole most of the time. I haven't watched the trailer and don't think I will because I don't want too much spoiled.

A lot of Silver Age characters have stuck around and been modified. Bizarro was a silver age character but in the 90s they changed his origin and made him a tragic figure.

A lot of sh*t here is pretty accurate to the old comics, so I'm with it.

I didn't have the best expectations, but this little teaser trailer got me a little hype to see more.

The Krypto scene was dope as f*ck! I like a lot of what I saw, so I'm kinda looking forward to this now.

I know what the Silver Age is. And I’m not saying there aren’t bronze or modern age concepts there too.

I’m talking about just letting weird stuff be weird which is closer to the Silver age goofiness than the Bronze Age or Modern attempt to make more rationalized explanations.

If Krypto just ends up being a dog in a rocket from Krypton. It’s just a dog in a rocket from Kryoton. Roll with it.

Looks solid overall just a few concerns:
- Gunn is absolutely obsessed with animals and weird creatures and will never give up a chance to stick one into the movie/show whether it's needed or not. He got one with Rocket and Groot but won't stop running that same play over and over. Dog owners never get that we don't like your damn pets as much as you like them.

- The Lex Luthor in the cartoon is perfect. There he's both an intellectual and a physical presence - larger and with a booming voice. I don't think live action has ever gotten this right.

There's this great scene in the animated film where Superman visits Lex in jail while Lex is lifting weights and being like "You were just born like this. I have to work for it :childplease:" You can tell he's not just jealous of Superman's superficial strength but also the love Superman gets from the people. He's misguided cause he thinks the love is because of the strength.
Agreed. nikkas of course will counter with "everything doesn't have to be like the comics" not understanding that the actually successful comic book adaptations still capture the essence of the source material..

Either way, despite them getting Lex wrong, I don't think he'll be a deal breaker
