Well the Supergirl book had a nonbinary person a few issues back.

What's the percentage of trannies in the US

according to google the trans population in the U.S. is .03%... but imo i wouldn't be surprised if it were lower than that. even if it isn't and that's accurate, it seems like an awfully small portion of people to have to placate like this.

where does it end? the first handicapped superhero? the first down syndrome superhero? the first albino superhero? all of these groups are probably just as large and have barely any representation in media. where is the movement to make those things happen?

nothing against trannies but why are they intentionally trying to normalize something that clearly (and mathematically) isn't the norm?

To the second part, that's what I can't understand. They making it seem like it is as common as coming across someone who is gay.

Watch the ratings get even worse now, mid season cancellation or end of season:jbhmm:.

Tried watching it a few times but just isn't interesting to me, now I have a reason to not try and watch again, keep that shyt away from Arrow and Flash.

LOL at talking about normalization when it's a fukking SUPER HERO, something that is completely abnormal and doesn't exist in the first place. Yet complain when something is represented on a TV show that actually exists, like a trans person. What a joke.

You know what also isn't the norm?
  • Black people in colleges. In 2013, Blacks represented 16% of community college, 14% for bachelor's degree universities, and 6% for elite universities.
  • Blacks in white collar jobs, they accounted for just 8% of white collar jobs in 2015
Yet I don't see the Coli complaining one damn bit when a black man on TV or in a movie is against the norm by having a college degree, a degree from an elite university, or has a white collar job.

this is such a ridiculous false equivalency :what:

for one even if blacks made up only 16% of college students, that’s like 1 out of 6 students. thats not some microscopic statistic, that’s a fair portion of the entire student body. it’s NOT uncommon to see black people attending college :what:

more importantly black ppl make up about 14% of the entire US population. this is a significant amount of people. you aren’t ‘reaching’ by depicting black ppl on TV in abundance.

to pretend that the trans community is some vast underrepresented group, or carrying on as if we all need to acknowledge it and accept it as something normal... is TOTALLY different.

this an insanely small group of people trying to make us feel bad for not including them and acknowledging them more often.... only they claim it’s due to prejudice and NOT the fact that they’re just an insanely small group of people that lead a very peculiar lifestyle.

As of 2016, 1.4 million US residents are trans. How is 1.4 million people insanely small? As of this article back in March, there are only 7 US cities with a population larger than 1.4 million.

I don’t know where you got that number from but I’m going off google.

Google says the US population is 325m and the trans population is .03%. That’s not even 1m ppl.

Obviously there’s no official source for these things but I think it’s very possible for you to find 1000 people on the street and not come across a single tranny. Maybe in a major city.

And again I ain’t got no problem with trannies, I feel like there is just an insane amount of media and topical conversation so preoccupied with it that it defies reason.

They exist, good for them. They have their own superhero, good for them. I’m happy they feel included. Now when can we all STFU about it?
