Nintendo would have to negotiate with both Disney and SE. I have large doubts of Disney being reasonable. Plus Cloud, Sephiroth and Erdrick are all iconic JRPG characters coming from SE.

Yea i noticed it as well. They killed all that melee talk with one trailer. This is what people mean when they say Nintendo doesn't need esports. Other companies do. No one is going to boycott smash bros when they do hype shyt like this lol.
Like i said my most wanted was Sora but like im not even mad cause the presentation on this trailer was actually OD. One of the hypest trailers i ever seen.

He is pretty good, but he def has some flaws like frame data and shyt. I doubt he will ever be optimized to be as good as Joker.
With that being said he is broken in casual play.

he's an extremely high risk high reward character. He has to commit to a whole lot with how slow his moves come out and how much end lag is on all of them. One thing I hate is how slow his counter move comes out. Not sure if it's online input delay on my end but I tried to use it on a pit a second ago because he tried to do an obvious dash attack at ledge on me and I just took too long to come out and the pit just beat me out on it.
Other than that
dude is fun as hell, and there's an awful lot of cloud mains out in quickplay right now.
