If Bills lost against Cincy Chiefs would have the inside track to the one side. If they won Bills would've had inside track. If Cincy beat Buffalo they also would've won the AFC North at that point. If they lost then the Ravens game would be for the division so the league decided if Ravens beat them they'd flip a coin for the division. Again covering for both results of the Buffalo/Cincy game.

So why not the same treatment for Buffalo/Cincy. If Cincy beat the Bills they'd have the inside track for the #2 seed and a home game against Buffalo for round two. That should've been treated the same way they treated a potential KC/Buff match up or if Ravens beat the Bengals the way they treated that to cover for both results of that cancelled game.
