It's mainly because they added another wildcard team. I don't care for the Monday game either but the alternative is either to have 9:00 AM or 10:00 AM Saturday/Sunday games or have some games play at same time on different networks.
They probably made the right choice for their wallets, but I woulda rather had that weekend morning slot

I'm wondering, as kind of a "reward" to the higher 2 and 3 seeds playing on wildcard weekend, whether they're going to make the Monday game each year one between the 4 vs 5 seeds from either conference. That way the potentially lower seeded team going into the divisional round will always only have 6 days as opposed to 7 rest.
