- WWE reportedly considered holding next year's SummerSlam at the Rogers Center - formerly known as the Skydome - that played host to two previous WrestleManias. Ultimately, the company went with the arena dates, possibly because of scheduling and logistic issues with baseball games at the Rogers Center that would have made it impossible to set up the stadium.

-- The company also moved up the date for SummerSlam by a week likely due to a convention in the city on the weekend of the original date. This now means that unless New Japan changes their date, SummerSlam and the G-1 finals will be taking place on the same day
