Been rockin with summer since she had 6 songs on her SoundCloud. Off a skim unloyal is the stand out to me so far. Gonna give it a 2nd listen. Low key I think she needs to step away from Londons production. It sounds like generic modern r&b….it works but I think she could def flourish more with some experimentation imo

How? They’re pretty tied re: vocal talent, song content, and demographic they appeal to - they’re pretty much the same artist just in a different package - keyshia being abrasive hoodrat, summer being a bohemian hoodrat

I think summer has better song content that resonates to the hoodrats . Plus her beat selection and (ghostwriters) songwriting is great. She’s an actual real musician also. She can play the guitar.

1 classic album and another potential classic she just dropped. Her catalogue is already ahead of Keyshias IMO.

Ehh, you got your reasons so I won’t argue. They’re pretty much interchangeable to me as of now with the exception keyshia could switch up and make a few positive love songs. First two albums? K has summer beat IMO, Over It was just ok to me, but if you count her mixtape, then they’re tied. If summer puts out a dope 3rd project, and shows a little more variety, then I’d move her ahead.

Nah. Keyshia had bigger songs but summer is basically the new female Usher without dancing. A lot of her peers don’t have the quality song writing she does. Closest is Ella Mai but her voice is kinda odd.

Honestly it’s the perfect comparison to confessions. It hits al the right notes and strikes the right tone of what’s the standard expectation. The songs are strong and well delivered and solidifies everything we expect from modern R&B. Keep telling you this is a damn near standard perfect R&b album.

Maybe I gotta go back and listen again but shyt seemed kinda mid to me. It definitely has its own vibe and mood, but after 20+ tracks some of them just sounded the same. I liked her last album, think I just gotta go back and listen again. I do like that Summer don’t make music just for the radio and hits. You can tell she make music for the hood lol. Ain’t no teenage white girls gonna be eating this up which I like.
