Not surprised. White supremacy creates an environment of suffering, degradation and futility for most black people. Including, and maybe especially, for black children.

Without a viable community to provide education, community activity, mentorship and jobs to black youth, then it's not hard to tell that there will be black children who fall through the cracks.

I don't think so. It's been like that for decades.

I have recently noticed the number of black kids killing themselves within the past 5-7 years. I believe that it has a lot to do with social media. I've heard about a few 90s babies killing themselves, but most were late 90s/early 2000s. Out of the people who killed themselves that I knew personally, 1 was poor and the rest were middle class. Only one had the life you described. The things you listed were around way before that. It has to be social media and the way they were raised (not really family wise, but the generation they grew up in).


I agree about young black males. It's not only black males though, it's all males who are expected to be that way. There is a slight difference.

See, I wouldn't mind starting a support group for young guys my age to discuss racial issues that we face in our day to day. But you don't have enough people willing to do it.
