Hated them so much. Remember you had to memorize your speech or part in the speech. UGH.

Are any of your grandparents or older relatives still living?
Do you have any elders you talk to on a regular basis?
Talk to them, ask about their life, build a relationship. Soak up what you can from them and make it apart of you so you can pass that knowledge down one day.
I say this because when you constantly see a living example of what makes us who we are, it’s easier to pinpoint what defines us. Eventually, you too will become that living example.

What about family reunions?
The entertainment portion is always a mess...lol. My Uncles really think they can sing.
I remember me and my cousins got a whoopin one time cause we performed "Givin Him Something He Can Feel" by EnVogue. My Granddaddy grabbed my ass time I walked off the stage and tore me up.
