My dude, I think I might have seen that video a few months ago but I have NEVER even heard of Gerardo in ANY Death Row Records history. I just watched it and EVERY SINGLE thing he says about Suge is hearsay. This is what I mean, no one can pull up anything valid. Its all hearsay. Everything he says is "I heard", "Someone told me", etc. Rewatch your own video and tell me something factual.

I have one from Kurupt where he speaks the real on Suge:

2:58

"Whatever it may be, I'm sure everybody can agree from Death Row, if you was on Death Row, if you was on OUR level, you was taken care of properly".

I watched the video and several others. Everyone basically says Suge was an Animal, bully, and a savage. And you and I are both outsiders, but if the people who actually there are all saying the same shyt, then its more then likely the case. He's not on Puff's level as far as raping his artist, but the tactics he used to protect his artist, and protect his rep are pretty fukking crucial.

You are right about a lot of your post. Don't get me wrong, Suge Knight is far from an angel and I would HATE to be around someone as volatile as him.

But to discredit his intelligence (not saying you have, my G) like a lot of people in the music industry have because he stood up for his artists to the point of being a brute, is something no one else in rap's generatiom has had to answer for.

Playing devil's advocate, do you believe Suge was the only rap record label owner doing shady shyt? Do you reckon Puffy, Russell Simmons, Lyor Cohen, Steve Rifkind, Birdman or ANY other record label owner, rap or otherwise, did not do WORSE?

Death Row Records was on the way in 1995-1996 to becoming an independent label as Time Warner wanted Interscope to drop them but funnily enough, Suge's chess move was just as powerful by getting 'Pac on the label.

Look deeper and read between the lines at what has happened to Suge since September 1996 and tell me this isn't a complete character assassination, the 'Straight Outta Compton' movie was the last straw.

By the way, this whole post is not directed strictly towards you, @NoChill Jones, just got a lot of shyt to get off my chest.

Yeah all of those cats you mentioned are shady. When your the CEO of a label, there is no one watching you. You take what you want off the top and give the artist what your "required" to give them. I am not saying Suge is the devil of the industry. But unlike pretty much all of those dudes, Suge was an actual ex/current gang member. He was a street dude who used street tactics, often getting his hands dirty.

His character got assassinated because even after his bid he was still using street tactics to handle his business. But I honestly believe because he was an informant a lot of it was swept under the rug. Yeah he started death row and made nothing from something. But his character flaws are egregious, and we all have to atone for our egregious flaws sooner or later. That's life. Turns out luck ran out for the Violent Kingpin with the golden heart. :yeshrug:

LOL.

I know this SOUNDS COOL and very sensationalized. HOWEVER, there is a large number of high priced Los Angeles attorneys that would have completely shredded any 'lifetime management' contract to fukking pieces. I mean just completely tear it apart letter by letter throwing everything at it including that poor p*ssy Dre signed it under distress and fear. fukking ridiculous to even think he would get paid on the Beats deal. If that was true, Suge and Dre would need to have regular meetings to get paid for EVERYTHING he did. That means Beats before it was sold. Coors light commercials. His money from Training Day both as the actor and the sound track....it's just beyond reaching to even include that. Beats is brought up for no reason, really.

Talking about a Piru's word is bond and all that is again sensationalized writing. Not saying they don't follow a code of the streets but it's not fukking bulletproof and things go south all the time. If everything was handled perfectly tens of thousands of 'Bloods' wouldn't have been killed in these LA streets since the 80s till now.

lol What? A contract is a contract verbal or otherwise. Simply having a high powered attorney won't just magically make a contract go away.

Everything else you stated about Suge getting paid off of Dre would be true if the contract does exist.
I doubt very seriously if it does that it was made on Dre's part out of fear. There is a interview with one of Dre's ex-girlfriends who talks about Dre not even having enough money to be able to eat at Subway and how Suge would give Dre money. Even if you look at Pac, he was desperate and signed as well. No one had to beat him up to do it. It's more of the big bad Suge narrative that we always get. I'm not trying to be funny here but Suge got the label, the master's even dre's wife, I wouldn't doubt for a second that he has a legal claim to x amount of whatever Dre makes per life.
