I usually don't feel one way or another about celebs dying, but this one really got me. SS made sports entertaining to me again. I remember when my family first got cable. I was in the 8th grade, and had no idea what Sportscenter was. I remember I found it and woke up early every morning to watch because the cast at that time was full of OG's. Eisen, Mayne, Olberman, and Scott. And while they all had their funny quips, Scott was the one that was most relatable and funny to me. IMO Sportscenter and most of ESPN news programming is the way it is based off of his theme and sayings that he brought to the show. He was the man. It's been a long time since I've watched Sportscenter but Scott made it what it is for me. Peace to that brother and his family.

CATOSOTP.

As a black professional who is constantly told to not use colloquialisms and to downplay my blackness, he always was the example of "hey, i dont have to do that! Look at Stuart Scott, he made it to ESPN! If he can make it keeping it real, i can too!"

this shyt is hard to process.

a reminder that the good dont live forever, and neither will I. that ESPY speech breaks me down, because i have a daughter. I have enough trouble getting her to the bus stop on time for school, I cant imagine knowing that death is imminent and dealing with that.

proud of the coli in the way this has been handled.
I wouldn't expect any less from my Coli:salute:

... despite the Fukkery, we always take sobering moments to honor and reflect on

BLACKEXCELLENCE
. Stu's the precursor to the Coli, cuz his authentic Sports anchoring and catchphrases were staples of our childhood:blessed:

BOO-YAH!:mjcry:

Damn....why do the good ones always have to go so soon? He was so close to conquering cancer. His body just gave out :mjcry:

R.I.P. to Stuart. I didn't know he had this much type of love but its a great to see. Its also great to see him finally get his due for changing the game. I grew up on this man watching SC as a kid. ESPN had alot of great anchors back then that were good, but Stu was the main one I connected with the most. Even though he got redundant later on with his catchphrases, cliches and stat mentions......I still loved it because that was Stu. He stayed true to himself at the end and I admired that.
