Strong bench press for gym goers not everyday men

The average man can't lift 135,so this is for the gym goers or people who lift every now and then

What's a strong one rep max bench?

Is there any reason to go over 225,even if you hitting it for 10+reps?

good metric to shoot for is 1.5x bodyweight

benching bodyweight should be standard for any man, 1.5 is above average in almost all cases

when i was benching regularly(barbell) i got to 255 3x5

i switched over to weighted dips and havent really gone back to barbell bench. I still do dbell bench and a variety of pushup variations but thats about it. I'm a firm believer in that there are more than one way to go about it

only constant is that you constantly have a progressive overload

I hit 300 lbs in april in bench when I was at my peak, so I would assume thats well above average but im 6 foot 190 lbs right now im focusing on squatting because im trying to hit 405, hopefully ill hit 315 bench along the way

I remember my boy in the joint lifting weights and only being able to bench 135 when he first started,he felt barbell was too heavy so he switched to dumbbells,about 2 years later he had got up to the 120 dumbbells and was benching 285 for 4 reps:wow:

My bench press max is 135x7... I have a fukked up shoulder

But my dumbbell 1 rep max is 130x1 or 260 however you look at it.

1 rep max is 510lbs on the chest press machine

For those circumstances, there's no real reason to even do 1rm max outside of personal satisfaction

Just keep playing with 6-15 and moving up as you gain strength
