The American economy is decaying as globalization has moved low skilled work to developing nations and America's terrible education system has nor prepared its citizens for high wage work and compete in the global economy. Economic strive leads to extremism and nationalism, maga and qanon are just the tip of the iceberg.

I doubt it'll get to a point of full authoritarianism or state sanctioned fascism because, despite this country's very racist past, that's the complete opposite of the ethos of America(freedom and money).
That in and of itself would pose a threat to the unity of the Republican party.
Also, people these days just aren't going for that shyt (I direct you to the 2020 George Floyd uprising).
We'll see a bunch of independent sovereign states before that happens.
Problem is the coasts and big cities have the money and the intellectual capital, while the flyover states in the midwest and the south have the guns and military prowess. But I digress....

It's no more a white fascist ethnostate than it was in the 1960s and earlier. What changed was it became illegal to do certain things to us or to deny us certain things and of course there have been people focused on trying to roll back all of those changes to what things were like in the past.

america is more likely to balkanize and split into different competing areas that only come together to fight off enemy nations. Too many blacks and latinos in the military. too much interbreeding between blacks and whites already.

Either move me and family to a different country or join the resistance. A far right regime can't exist in America too long and will eventually lead to civil conflict or revolution. Young people are far too progressive, climate change is going to expose the fallacy of right wing policies, and the demographics are changing. These far right clowns don't realize how much their attempts at instituting a far right autocracy will lead to the absolute destruction of this country. It will turn into a proxy war with our adversaries (China and Russia) and allies (NATO) intervening. In the end the biggest losers will be Americans themselves.
