SFIV was a vibe to me. Best one as a Dhalsim player. Dude was a defensive monster in that game and you didn't play him aggressive.

It was such a great feeling shutting someone down.

I still remember when F-Champ used to have Prime Daigo's number because of the defense:

6 is the best of the 3. Barring the roster which is being improved. It also has the potential to be the best Street Fighter if we keeping it a buck.

King say all of this louder for the people in the back. Just cuz 4 is yall favorite don't mean it's the best one.

A lot of folks started with 4, so that's a big reason it's so special for them. Also, for older heads, since it was a resurgence of the arcade era and the heavy lean on nolstagia, it means a lot to some of them as well. Me...not so much. Aesthestics design-wise, it's uneqivocally the goofiest of all 2d SF iterations and looking back, some of the fighting mechanics were nonsensical as well. I mean, they made some sense as in a deliberate purpose of the game, but that's cuz those same game design choices were low-key silly to begin with and would've been game breaking without the goofy shyt to circumvent them.

:camby:SFV was in a good spot by the end of Season 2, just around the time he the new gen of players started stomping him out..
By the end of the last season sure, by the end of season 2 we got that gimmick of a character Abigail, then season 3 We got G, by the end of season 4 is where you could kinda start seeing potential and why people could enjoy it.

And by the end of the final season the game was in a good spot, but still trash imo.

6 feels the best to play. Ive played em all recently back to back to get a feel of the differences. Im more of a casual than a hardcore street fighter guy tho.

But as far as feel and control. Its 6 by far. The mechanics of 6 are smoother and come together more fluidly than the mechanics of 4.

Yeah, ironically enough, the area that IV and V seemed to have handled better is DLC. Time wise comparative, they both had way more costumes and released way more characters by mid-season 2 than VI is right now.

I was speaking with a friend of mine recently about this and he states that it's due to 6 development team emphasising a stronger focus on character balance and aesthetic design to not having all the weird clipping issues that previous game did. To some level, that makes some sense, but I feel like with the RE engine acclaimed to being so adaptable to deal with, at least the costume shyts seems like that'd be more plentiful by now. By season 2 of SFV, Chun-li alone must've had like, no less than...900 thousand costumes, which is like 1200 thousand adjusted for inflation.

If anything, they should at least have multiple, universal theme costumes for each character by now. Like, do you want my fukking money or what, Capcom?! And I'm still not with only 4 characters per season, I don't care for what reason. Especially with half of them being guest charaters, that's treason.

Prolly cause developing characters cost more nowadays than it did back then. Four chars seem to be the trend for all fighting game seasons nowadays.

Street Fighter 5 killed all my interest for Street Fighter, what a boring ass fighting game

I could still watch clips of 3rd Strike, and still be amazed at the fukkery that could be pulled off via parry system

Street Fighter 4 was pretty good, just didn't like the graphics as much, but the focus system could be used variety of ways and some of the cancel combos were damn impressive

They cooking 5 in the comments lol

i will take all the throw loops and drive rush bullshyt in the world if it means i never have to accept a random heavy button vtrigger cancel

also didn't sfv have the priority system where if a light and a medium attack clashed the medium just won? hated that shyt too

will give them credit and say i agreed with them taking away meterless full invuln DP's tho

my main complaint with sf6 is that there's too many chars that benefit from cr.mk xx drive rush cancel and when there's someone like a deejay/zangief/jp that's really good without having that crutch, they bring them chars down quick

also i have no idea what makes Marisa unique anymore. She used to be the damage but now it seems like everybody gettin her damage
