For the time the album fell flat from Stillmatic. From the mundane production, boring at times tracks, and how unnecessary long the album was. Somehow the album hits so different with how celebs kiss the ring:

Growth of regrets:

Focusing on family in these dire days:

The get yours grimey mentality from Amerikkkan government to the streets:

:whew: Its like this album prophesized the future to the tee...

His most underrated album to me.

Never understood the hate it got.

I damn near thought it was a masterpiece when it dropped, but I haven’t really listened in 20 years.

One of the few times I let the opinion of the masses question my own judgment.

TBF, some of those tracks didn't mesh well with the overall theme of the album (Suicide Bounce), also Remi's production kinda was getting overplayed with Nas. Like I remember heads groaning at the production notes because his name popped up, and not so much somebody like Premo or etc.

This was also the year when the south held it down, so yawkers had to put in overtime to get heads to listen to the Big Apple raps.

I loved it breh.

I don’t know why but it just connected with me at whatever time that was in my journey.

I like when Nas gets in his artist bag pause and Suicide Bounce was one of the few complete Nas tracks (written and produced by him) that we’ve gotten.

He was happy, free, and experimental on that album and it led to one of his most enjoyable and creative albums for me.

There's like three Nas albums that live rent free in the marsupial's habitat:

  1. Life Is Good
  2. God Son
  3. Street's Disciple
I always make a vow to revisit them jawn because Wiseman growth Nas>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Street hood bust his guns Nas>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Escobar

I liked the album..few tracks could have been left off but its not as bad as people said.

For me it was Suicide Bounce. I remember vibing to album 1 going into album 2 like:

Like that track alone just killed the overall vibe. Thank God, Virgo picked it back up because ooof I hate that track next to Braveheart Party :scust:
