Spurs have 8 games left, Raptors have 7 games left. We're currently 3.5 games better than the Raptors in the standings, so we need to truly lock in on this tank shyt to let them pass us.

However, the Raptors are currently 5 games out of the play-in, so they're a threat to start tanking as well pretty soon (even though they're on a 4-game winning streak currently).

Imagine unnecessarily winning a game against Denver while at least 4 lottery picks are back home playing in your practice facility.

Letting the Nuggets out-tank us :francis:

I was in a Spurs space on X after the game and people talking about "need some momentum for next season." I'm like fukk you mean momentum? :dahell: The hell we gonna learn beating Denver's scrubs? Reading into what happens the final 10 games of a season is what led us to signing Zach Collins to an extension. :snoop:

It seems like Sochan was a bit more efficient this season. There’s reason to think he could have a long term future here.

Stephon Castle might be the Rookie of the Year.

I don’t think we have seen significant growth from any of the other complementary players. You expected some kind of leap from Vassell or Keldon but since it hasn’t happened by now, it might be fair to say they’re just okay players. Not difference makers.

I got Sochan as a bench player for us. I think we'll be better when we stop trying to shoe-horn him into the starting 5. If he could at least develop some of Draymond's passing chops, the best spot for him would be the starting 3, but his lack of shooting (fukk the improved percentages, he's being left wide open) prevents that. A lineup of Fox/Castle/Barnes/Wemby/Malauch (rookie) or Myles Turner (my dream FA pickup) would be the ideal 5. Let CP (if he's back), Vassell, Keldon. Sochan and whatever big run the 2nd unit.

Stephon Castle's rookie season:

What did you like?
What are the most immediate areas for improvement?

As with almost every draft pick of recent note...3 point shooting.

Edit: as for what I like, dude has that unfukkwitable attitude on the court. Man if Vassell could only have his mindset. Castle has that confidence that can't be taught. And he looked great running point at the end of last night's game. It's going to be an interesting dynamic when he and Fox get to run together (CP politicin' kept the Spurs from running it before Fox's surgery.
