Stank wasn't doing shyt, the numbers for Nitro didn't go up till Kliq South got down there to bring some buzz to that promotion before it went under
Yeah at first but Sting was the biggest in pro wrestling by 97. There was anyone in the next More over and filling up arenas like he was...neither was Bret, Taker, Austin, Michael's, Sid....they were all nothing compared to Sting in 97. In the end, the Tyson angle made Austin immortal in fans' hearts by early 98 but even then...Sting was the MAN to the WCW fanbase.

so provide the receipts then :heh:

I can provide the facts and numbers but can't now? All I know about Vader in America is his cry baby ass getting punked like a bytch by HBGOAT and then disgracefully ending his career soon after that

So you expect me to research the ratings of every match Sting had throughout the 90's?:gucci:

1997 was also coincidentally the PEAK of the NWO (Kliq south) popularity, if it wasn't for Hall giving Stank that crow gimmick he'd still be a bootleg Warrior to this day

Yeah..the peak because they went against the top drawing face in the industry... Undertaker, Sid, and Bret bombed. Sting is how we got to those Attitude Era crowd reactions.

Kevin Sullivan adds: "If I needed to draw a rating, Sting and Flair always drew. It was like Ali and Frazier."

Mr Stephanie Mcmahon wouldn't be where he is if he didn't marry into the family. And coincidentally that graph you showed me was the rise of the attitude era. Go figure.

1997 was NWO feat. NWO at that point, peep the crowds which 75% were wearing NWO merch

Stank was only a draw when paired with Flair, Flair drew regardless of who he was with. Kang was already IC champ, KOF winner, part of the most popular stable in the industry... all before he gave Stephanie the pipe

way too much revisionist history going on here

Giving Steph the pipe kept him where he is. Now Sting was only a draw with Flair? Before he wasn't a draw at all. Next it's going to be he was only a draw with Flair and all of yhe NWO. Then Goldberg. Ok buddy. I'm done here.

Bullshyt. Whenever WCW needed ratings they went to Sting vs Flair or Sting vs Vader. And his merchandise was a top seller. Sick of you mofos with this he never drew a dime bullshyt.

You can always tell who was actually watching WCW pre Nitro era when they recycle Meltzer’s “well Sting never drew until 97” points.

NOBODY you can name was gonna draw in that early 90’s WCW with how they were managed.

Like it was BAD folks must just not know/remember the herd/watts era of dated concepts and inept management.

Wait until they hopefully put that stuff on the network.

As far as the match, not needed.

Just to see Sting and Undertaker cross paths on screen is enough. Team up as @Cobratron said. Have a promo, it doesn’t matter.

It’s just one of those things that makes sense for history.

Wow... we got R=G and HHH=G in the same thread... this shyt about to go waaaay off topic :pachaha:

And yeah, this Sting never drew shyt is a lie and a half. Even with WCW being the mess that it was in the early-90s, he was in many ways the ONLY person there who could draw anything in Flair's absence. Not Vader, not Luger, not Simmons, only Sting was a consistent main-eventer that they used to push their big events. You ain't gettin' that kinda top billing all the time if you're not a draw.

And true, the NWO was very much THE draw of '97-'98 but until Goldberg, the only real draw they had to go against the NWO was Sting. Luger was only gonna do so much, Piper-Hogan did great numbers one time only, and Page was over but not THAT over... Sting's involvement was the peak of the NWO run.

Wasn't no damn nwo feat...after they went away from Sting, the ratings switched over and never returned.

Ratings in 98 with Goldberg and the undefeated streak were better than 97 with Sting. It's funny when people lie on ratings when they are posted online for everyone to see

But they got their Asses kicked by the Austin come up..what Sting built up, the Goldberg storyline kept going a yeae after but it didn't dominate though.
